The retirement of Stevie Mowat, skipper of the MV Graemsay, in summer 2012 prompted us to gather some images from Stevie’s time linking the communities of Hoy & Graemsay to each other and to Stromness. Stevie ran ferries on the route before Orkney Ferries and MV Graemsay, here you will see images of the Jessie Ellen and Scapa Ranger and a laden Triton.

The good old days
Hi from Tim and Jenny, South End Orkney. We are currently on a cruise on “The Lord of the Glens” from Oban to Inverness through the Caledonian Canal. We are in the top basin at the top of the long flight of locks known as Neptune’s Staircase. We were pleased and surprised to be passed by Triton travelling in the direction of Oban. It is good to see her bejing kept in good condition by her new owner!
